The Diabetes Care Centers of Utah at Davis Hospital and Medical Center is conveniently located just west of Davis Hospital, we represent a comprehensive resource for diabetes care and prevention in Utah. Our diabetes experts will provide you with diabetes self-management educational materials, training and education to reduce the risk of diabetes complications.

The statistics may be unsettling, but there is hope for people living with diabetes, and there are ways to control and reduce the complications associated with this disease.

• 79 million Americans have prediabetes.
• 1.9 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year.
• Nearly 10% of the entire U.S. population has diabetes, including over 25% of seniors.
• As many as 1 in 3 American adults will have diabetes in 2050 if present trends continue.

Our program provides a network of physicians and experts who specialize in treating diabetes, as well as self management tools and education to help patients live successfully with this condition.

Inpatient Care

There may come a time when you have to be admitted to the hospital due to diabetes or a complication of the disease. Our diabetes team will work with your doctor to provide high-quality healthcare and to help achieve successful treatment.

Outpatient Care

Our center also offers a comprehensive outpatient program designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to live a better life with diabetes. Topics covered in the outpatient program include medication management, diet and nutrition, blood glucose monitoring, exercise, and stress management, living with diabetes and community resources.

Insulin Pump Therapy

More than 20,000 people of different ages and backgrounds use insulin pump therapy to control their  diabetes. Scientific studies have concluded that this therapy can prevent diabetes complications, allowing patients to enjoy variety in meals, energy for exercise, and enhanced daily life. The insulin pump therapy programs we offer provide support, information, and the training you need for safe and successful use.

Gestational Diabetes and Preconception Management

Our diabetes team will support and help you to understand and manage diabetes that develops during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) or exists prior to pregnancy. We offer a program that covers healthy nutrition, blood glucose monitoring, exercise and fetal activity awareness to help you achieve the best health possible for you and your baby.
